PL007 08742 Bi-Metal Defrost Thermostat prevents refrigerators from overheating during defrost cycles by protecting the evaporator. This clip-on thermostat will sense the evaporator temperature rise during defrost and melt the defrost heater after ice or frost builds up. The most common reasons for replacing this part are equipment leaks, inconsistent temperatures (too hot or too cold), icing, or equipment running for too long.
