Defrost thermostat ELTH-008 9182A is located inside the freezer compartment either directly mounted to the evaporator or indirectly mounted to the evaporator.
It has two wires that connect inline with the heater and a clip on the body of the thermostat that allows it to latch onto the evaporator tubing.
The thermostat stops the fridge from overheating during the defrost cycle by protecting the evaporator.
This clip-on thermostat will sense the temperature increase in the evaporator during the defrost process, and will cycle the defrost heater off after the ice or frost is melted.
Safely store any food that could deteriorate while the power is off. Unplug the refrigerator before installing this part. Wear work gloves to protect your hands.
